Site: United States Air Force Academy Cadet Chapel

The Project: Buddhist meditation hall within a National Historic Register site. The Chapel now holds the first space in a federal facility dedicated to Buddhism.

Figuring out the bureaucratic intricacies of working for the Air Force (especially just after 9/11), getting our design past historical review boards. Working with the Roshi to capture the essence of his vision for the place…All great fun. But we also got the rare chance to do mindful work of the best quality!
